Sprained Ankle
Patient presents with sore ankle after rolling it
Describes pain and swelling around the ankle

Able to weight bear
On exam:
Ankle exam:
Swelling and pain over the ATFL
No tenderness to palpation of the distal fibula, distal tibia or proximal 5th metatarsal
Impression:
Sprained ankle
Plan:
Advised patient of diagnosis
Encouraged to mobilise
Use simple analgesic such as Paracetamol and Ibuprofen
Ice regularly for the first 48 hours
Compression bandage as required
Return here if pain worsening or any other concerns
